Most surprising when you first arrived: Before high school, I didn’t play any competitive sports. I never would have predicted what a huge effect fitness, sportsmanship, and a team of close friends could have on me when I first joined cross country in the fall of my freshman year.
Favorite class: English. I enjoy the stimulating discussion-based class setting, where you learn not only about the material, but also about your classmates.
Groton activities: Choir, musical theater, cross country, peer counselor, a cappella
Most memorable Groton moment: Playing piano in the band’s rhythm section for The Wiz, with Angus Warren ’16 at bass and Drew Bassilakis ’16 at guitar. We spent a term learning all the songs. By the time we began playing with the whole cast, organizing our parts with their choreography, and spending time with individual singers to master the solo songs, we were really jamming as a group. It was fantastic to be a part of the culminating three performances, which were a huge success not only for us but for the whole acting cast.
Favorite Dining Hall food: Grilled cheese and tomato soup
Favorite Surprise Holiday: Running straight back to the dorm after the Surprise Holiday announcement, sleeping until lunch, spending an hour and a half in the Dining Hall with friends, followed by an afternoon of relaxing on the Circle
