During 18 years teaching at Groton, Bob Gula became known for the General Knowledge Tests that he created and proctored each spring. Test your knowledge with questions from 1979:

4. What is Double Jeopardy?
Answer: Double jeopardy is a procedural defense that forbids a defendant from being tried again on the same (or similar) charges following a legitimate acquittal or conviction.

5. For how many years is a U.S. senator elected?
Answer: Senators serve terms of six years each; the terms are staggered so that approximately one-third of the seats are up for election every two years.
