A short story by Ethan Woo ’16 and drawings by Yolanda Dong ’17 and Derek Xiao ’15 were published in the Winter 2014 issue of The Marble Collection, the Massachusetts High School Magazine of the Arts.
Ethan’s story, “Pills,” reveals a chilling and disturbing family portrait. Derek’s drawing, “The City by the Bay,” depicts an iconic hill, one of his favorite spots in his home town of San Francisco. And Yolanda’s work, “Transformation,” is a colorful work of nature and fantasy.
Derek also received recognition for his artwork from the Boston Globe. He won two Gold Keys in the Boston Globe‘s 2014 Scholastic Art Awards, for “City by the Bay,” at right, and “The Darkness Around Us Is Deep.” Yanni Cho ’16 received three Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards, including a Gold Key for a work entitled “Escape.””
