Mr. Gula’s 1973 General Knowledge Test – September 2013

Bob Gula, 18 year teacher, Second Form boys dorm master, musician, author, and friend, created and proctored the General Knowledge Test each spring. Hundreds of Groton students took this test not because they had to but because it was fun and challenging. Here are a few of the questions from 1973. Be well.

Answer: 4

2. There were three types of Greek architecture: Corinthian, Ionic and, ?
Answer: Doric

3. Water boils at what temperature Fahrenheit?
Answer: 212

4. Where would you find the expression ANNUIT COEPTIS?
Answer: Dollar Bill

5. What part of the automobile engine mixes gasoline with air to make the explosive mixture?
Answer: Carburetor
