While reading William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Peter Quagliaroli’s English 3 class used the social media platform Twitter to understand the characters and their motivations, emotions, and reactions. Each student was assigned a character and created a Twitter account for him or her, then tweeted in the voice of that character. Though not an adept tweeter himself, Mr. Quagliaroli relied on his students’ comfort with the 140-character limit to carry the conversations. “It was a blast and the kids made it work,” he said.
The class’s tweets can be found through Mr. Quagliaroli’s Twitter account @MrQ_Shakespeare.
