Spring in Washington, D.C., is often balmy and dressed in cherry blossoms, and this April was no different. At least it seemed balmy to the contingent that traveled from the Circle to D.C. to greet and reconnect with Grotonians in the Washington area. The residents thought it was a bit chilly, but were quick to welcome the travelers from Massachusetts warmly. Nearly 100 alumni and parents (current and past) turned out for the DC reception to see each other and hear news from the Circle.
Hosted by Molly and Fredrick Kellogg ’60 at the Sulgrave Club on Dupont Circle, the evening began with a faculty panel comprised of history teacher Jennifer Wallace, Classics Department Chair Scott Giampetruzzi, and mathematics teacher Bill Maguire, and moderated by Headmaster Rick Commons. A reception followed, and the buzz was palpable as friends greeted one another with hugs and tales from their lives. It was a festive evening with old friends lingering to share one more story; the School is grateful to all who turned out!
