This February, the Circle expanded to include San Francisco, if only for a night or two. One event connected current parents, many of whom had yet to meet, at Perry’s in the Marina District. West Coast families rarely get the opportunity to meet other parents; their sideline visits are few and pick-up and drop-off usually involve trips to the airport. In addition to the usual banter about kids and work, the parents enjoyed getting to know each other.
The following evening, across town in the SOMA district, more than 30 alumni and past parents gathered for a reception at Roe. Spanning the Forms of 1955 to 2004, the evening was a huge success as past parents and alumni reconnected and made new friends. Both events showed that Grotonians are always happy to step back inside the Circle, even if only metaphorically.
